«Идея создания богато иллюстрированного альбома, посвященного Бехзаду, высказывалась специалистами неоднократно. Я рада, мои собственные профессиональные интересы и интересы проекта «Культурное наследие Узбекистана в собраниях мира» совпали, и я была приглашена к работе по созданию этого альбома. Мы планировали, что альбом увидит свет еще в 2020 году, в год 565-летнего юбилея выдающегося средневекового художника-миниатюриста, однако пандемия помешала нашим планам. Бехзад в культуре Узбекистана занимает особое место, т.к. его творчество оказало огромное влияние на сложение местной Бухарской школы в начале 16 века, а современные художники-миниатюристы часто используют многие из его достижений в своих работах. Именем Бехзада названы Национальный институт художеств и дизайна в Ташкенте, Музей миниатюры, школы, стипендии».

"BEKHZAD - SHAMED MANI": the first large-scale publishing project in Uzbekistan dedicated to the great miniaturist

Kamaliddin Bekhzad - "Raphael of the East", a miracle of his age, an unsurpassed miniaturist and role model for artists and jewelers of the East, who shamed Mani and humiliated Arzhang with his brush ...

Surprisingly: despite the wide popularity of his name and a significant number of publications abroad, in our country there has not yet been a single publication associated with the unique genius of the Middle Ages.

The project "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the World Collections" and the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan are preparing for publication a unique illustrated album "Kamaliddin Bekhzad - Shamed Mani" of the greatest masters not only of the Herat school of miniature, but of the whole East. This is the first album of this scale in Uzbekistan. The new edition will be designed for a wide range of national and foreign readers and will become an important help for specialists and students of art universities.

The text for the album was written by Zukhra Rakhimova, a specialist in the art of Oriental miniatures, a candidate of art history, a professor at the Kamaliddin Bekhzad National Institute of Arts and Design.

Research initiatives implemented by the project "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the World Collections" are aimed at studying, preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
