From May 17-19, the International Congress on Strategic Studies of the Turkic World took place at Uludağ University in Bursa, Turkey.
The conference was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, India, Albania, Kazakhstan, Finland, and Kosovo. The conference featured lectures on the cultural heritage, history, modern achievements, and issues of Turkic peoples.
The World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU) collaborates with several Turkish museums and libraries. Many manuscripts and rare artifacts related to Uzbekistan are stored in institutions such as the Topkapi Palace Museum, the Suleymaniye Library, and the Turkish Museum of Islamic Art. Notable scholars such as Vahid Turk, Tanju Seyhan, Lale Uluç, and Hayrettin Ivgin regularly participate in WOSCU conventions, and several books about Uzbek artworks in Turkey have been published with their contributions.
The Bursa region has many connections to Uzbekistan. One district is called Keles, home to descendants of people who emigrated from Keles in the Tashkent region. The Keles District Museum of Culture in Bursa displays many historical artifacts related to Uzbekistan.
Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, is the burial site of prominent dynasty members such as Osman Gazi, Orhan, and Bayezid Yildirim.
Rustam Jabbarov, the scientific consultant of WOSCU, participated in the event. He exchanged ideas with scholars from around the world, including from Bursa, on promoting Uzbekistan's cultural heritage. Additionally, book-albums from the "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan" series were donated to the Uludağ University library.
