Dina Khisamova: “Uzbekistan is doing amazing things and this is an example for other nations”

“This is my first time participating in the Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan, and I am very impressed by the work that the country is doing at such a high international level to preserve its heritage".

"The scale, number of lectures, quality of speakers and enormous scientific work on international cataloging of national heritage are very impressive.  You have created a serious international research platform, to which not only large museums and libraries, but also private publications and small collections from all over the world have joined with great initiative.

It is also important that the team of the World Society aroused the interest of orientalists in many countries in the search for Uzbek objects and a deeper study of their collections and funds.  The book presented at this congress, dedicated to the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan, is one of them. It was only after the appeal from the World Society that we realized how wonderful the collections of Uzbekistan are in our collection, and for the first time we conducted research that shed light on absolutely amazing discoveries in our museum collection.

Therefore, what Uzbekistan is doing is simply amazing; it is a unique example for other peoples and countries. The second important task of your society is that thanks to you, we, scientists from different countries, can expand our worldview, meet colleagues from other countries, and exchange experiences. This allows us to establish strong scientific connections and look at our museum collections from a different angle. This is of fundamental importance for the preservation and development of the international cultural community.

I was very impressed by your country and especially by the completely unique Eternal City, which I had heard a lot about but had never seen. This is a real sensation that Uzbekistan can rightfully be proud of,” said Deputy Director of the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan Dina Khisamova.
