Floral motifs (islimi) in copper chasing

In copper-chased goods сompositions are linear, as a rule, when a pattern is constructed in the form of horizontal and vertical stripes; centric with emphasis of central motif and all the motifs (medallions, rosettes, etc.).

The ornamental motifs are mainly vegetative, geometric and zoomorphic. The vegetative pattern islimi consisting of twining stems, flowers and leaves was especially spread. The vegetative motifs fill the inner space of rosettes, medallions, geometric figures covering the body of vessels. There are a lot of variants of islimi patterns.

The zoomorphic motifs take place in ornamentation : chashma bulbul (nightingale eye), kuchkorok (ram horn), pushti balik (fish scale) and others. Some of the patterns bear the name of the animal depicted: kirmak (worm), zuluk (leech), kapalak (butterfly), ilon izi (snake trace), turna (crane) and others. Individual names are taken from the subject world: elpigich (fan), belanchak (cradle), doira (tambourine) and others.
