Early antiquity in the archaeological collection of the State Museum of Arts of Karakalpakstan named after I. V. Savitskiy is represented by ancient rural cultures of Central Asia with their painted engobed pottery and clay figurines.
Among the exhibits in this section of the State Museum of Arts are the items from Saka burials, including bronze arrowheads, jewelry – necklaces, twisted bracelets, bronze shaped hair clips, and others. In these jewelry items the elements of the Western Asia origin combined with fine examples of original Saka art.
The Museum is rightly proud of a collection of jewelry, which includes rather unique items, dating back to the 1st – 4th centuries BC. Gold rings, jeweled by precious rocks of dark cherry color – almandines, distinguish for their beauty and the fine work. The rocks are inserted into graceful frames, decorated with large granulation.
