Indoor sculpture in Uzbekistan

From 1970 to the present time, indoor sculpture has been actively developing in the works of D. Ruzybaev, A. Khatamov, T. Tajihodzhaev, Zh. Kuttymuratov, and M. Ablakulov.

The collection of the State Museum of Arts presents many of their works. National and universal themes, the search for new expressive and plastic means, the enrichment of figurative impression, the high level of professionalism – all these are characteristics of the creative searches of the artists mentioned herein. In their work, indoor sculpture begins to acquire a certain “picturesqueness”, plasticity. This plasticity is consonant with the transfer of a certain state, psychological mood, inner experiences and barely tangible movements of the soul.

These artists are artists of great creative potential, bound to their homeland, its culture and traditions with indissoluble threads. A wide associative range, mild plasticity and the search for national identity are inherent in them. This is reflected in the choice of themes and characters, in the general optimistic imagery of the impression of the works.
