Secrets of Choydish. Let's listen to a podcast in English
Choydish is a copper jug used to heat water, replacing a samovar.
Such vessels differ in the shape of their bodies: some have rounded outlines, others are distinguished by a laterally flattened shape or a faceted ribbed surface.
Some jugs have a special design. A number of choydishes had an internal cavity arranged in the body of the vessel, where water was poured through the spout.
At the same time, the flattened sides of the jug were decorated with a through carving, thanks to which the water quickly heated up.
However, much less water could be placed in such a 'kettle with a secret' than in ordinary vessels.
We suggest listening to a podcast on choydish in English.
