The National Library of Uzbekistan houses abook museum displaying unique manuscripts and books published in a lithographic way.
Among them are the works by Abul Hasan al-Movardi “Foundations of Statehood” (11th century), Mahmud a l-Zamakhshari “Mukaddimat ul-adab” (1308), “Divan” by Alisher Navoi, etc. All these exhibits are presented from the collection of rare and manuscript editions of the library, which are kept in the Fund of the Manuscripts, Unique and Especially Valuable Editions service.
A special place in the museum is given to hand-decorated manuscripts created in the 18th-19th centuries in our territory. In addition, works and albums of Western scholars are presented, telling about the art of book printing, the features of its design, distinctive ornaments, and other characteristics of Eastern book culture. Alongside Eastern books, the museum's exhibits also include examples of Western book printing art from European countries in the aforementioned periods.
