Among Zoroastrian burial items, there is a camel-shaped zoomorphic OSTADON lying there. It was found…
Women's robe-like clothes of Kashkadarya, found in some other regions of Uzbekistan, were notable for richer ornamentation consisting of an abundance of embroidery and tassels popuk made of multicolored threads.
Of particular interest is the zhelak head cape, which is a wide robe with long false sleeves thrown back and fastened in the middle. The hem of the jelak was not hemmed, since, according to the ideas of the nomadic population of Kashkadarya, it contributed to female fertility.
The jelyak was embroidered along the edge of the front floors and long false sleeves with symbolic signs (rectangles, triangles, elements in the form of ram's horns, etc.). On the back of the back there was a large pattern in the form of a round astral sign, inside which there was a repeating pattern of smaller sizes.
The false sleeves were embroidered to the end with the same pattern in the form of circles, decorated with a plant motif. The lower part of the false sleeves is decorated with a border composition using the iroqi technique. In the ornamentation of the front hems, the motifs of the “tree of life”, a braid of black fabric with stripes of round metal plates and silk tassels with beads at the ends were used. Ornamental decorative elements of the head capes also necessarily included the image of a tamga identifying the tribal affiliation of the mistress of the costume.
You will find more examples of national Uzbek clothes in the book-album "Traditional Uzbek costume on materials of museum and private collections of Uzbekistan (Part 2)" (volume XLIX) from the series "Cultural legacy of Uzbekistan in the world collections".
