In the Middle Ages, Khorasan and Maverannahr were major centers of science, culture, applied arts, and crafts. The objects created here served not only the needs of everyday life, but also reflected the high artistic taste and spiritual worldview of the people.
One such unique artifact is a lead vessel in the shape of a petal. This find, dating back to approximately the 12th-13th centuries, the Ghaznavid period, is currently preserved in the Orpheus Gallery in London. Such vessels were widely used in ceremonies and home decorations of that time and represented a high level of craftsmanship.
Unfortunately, very few items of this type are preserved in the museums of Uzbekistan. Therefore, bringing them from international collections plays an important role in enriching our national heritage and demonstrating the history of our people to the general public.
Lead vessel in the shape of a petal is expected to be included in the exposition of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
