World Society to publish book about rarest Uzbek manuscripts in Azerbaijan
Researchers from the World Society are preparing for publication a book-album dedicated to unique manuscripts by Uzbek thinkers stored in the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
The illustrated book-album from the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Collections series will cover more than 90 manuscripts by Uzbek scholars, poets and cultural figures in Arabic, Persian and Uzbek. These include works by Alisher Navoi with miniatures, as well as by Bobur, Abu Ali ibn Sino (Avicenna), Imam al-Bukhari, Ulugbek and Jami.
Associate Professor and Professor Azizaga Najafov, Academic Secretary фе the Muhammad Fuzuli Institute of Manuscripts, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, told about the work on the new book.
"We have compiled and approved the lists of manuscripts that will be included in the album. We are preparing an introductory material about all the handwritten legacy stored at the institute. These are truly unique manuscripts. Many of them are illustrated with gold ornaments or have unusual covers. In addition to interesting material for researchers, young people and the general public, the volume will include a comprehensive series of illustrations providing a visual idea of the richest handwritten heritage of Uzbekistan. We plan to finish the model of the book by the end of this year," Azizaga Najafov said.
Importantly, the work on this book is the first cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in this sphere. Specialists also plan to publish a book-album dedicated to Uzbek collections in three museums - the National Museum of History of Azerbaijan,
National Carpet Museum and Azerbaijan National Museum of Art.
