The conference “The World of Cinema and Media: A New Look at Heritage” was held within the framework of the 7th International Congress of the World Society “The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan: the Foundation of a New Renaissance”.
It is no coincidence that a separate conference on cinema was held: at a video conference held on October 11 of this year, chaired by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the task of creating feature films and documentaries about the history and culture of Uzbekistan was set. This, in turn, requires the creation of new media projects that are closely related to our cultural heritage.
At the conference, new mechanisms were analyzed for combining the creative and production capabilities of film organizations of the TURKSOY countries to create films about the history and historical figures of the Turkic-speaking world. With the participation of heads of film organizations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, topics for future cooperation in film production between the countries of the Turkic world were discussed. In addition, a Memorandum was signed on the creation of the Union of Cinematographers of the TURKSOY Countries regarding the participation of the heads of film organizations of these countries in the work of the Congress and the presentation of new film projects aimed at popularizing their heritage. According to the agreement, in the future animation schools will be opened in Tashkent, Nukus and Bukhara.
