The art of embroidery has been valued in the Central Asian region long since.
This type of applied art became widespread in the life and daily life of the people of our country. In old times In the old days there was no woman who did not master the needle. A set of embroidery was one of the main parts of the Uzbek bride’s dowry. At the same time, the girl who was given in marriage had to participate in their production herself.
Embroidery had a ritual significance. An interesting custom is to leave the unfinished part in the finished product, “so that the wedding does not end in the house” and “the joy in the house does not cease”.
The richest ornamental system of embroidery is closely connected with the spiritual life and customs of the Uzbek people. All elements of embroidery – colour, drawing, individual symbols – carried an important semantic load.
