Kukeldash Madrasah - the largest of the 23 madrasahs of old Tashkent, built no later than 1569
And now some interesting facts about Kukeldash Madrasah
The madrasah was built on the former Shahristan Binket hill, on the remains of the embankment of the southern fortress wall.
The main portal, 19.7 m high, leads to the courtyard bounded by two-storey dormitories having numerous cells - hujra.
The portal was badly damaged by the earthquakes of 1866 and 1886 and then restored in 1950-60s.
