About State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan

The State Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan is located in the former palace of the Russian diplomat Alexander Polovtsov Jr.

The story of the future museum began in 1927, when an exhibition was organized for the best masters in Uzbekistan to demonstrate their works, which over time became permanent.

The works that were gathered over the years became the basis of the exposition for the Museum of Handicrafts founded in 1937, which was later renamed the Museum of Applied Arts of Uzbekistan.
