The fortress walls are adorned with unique bas-reliefs and heraldic images, and border units were stationed within its territory. During archaeological excavations, a silver drachma was discovered in the fortress, depicting the head of Alexander the Great in a lion-mask. Various coins dating back to the reign of Antiochus I were also unearthed, providing insights into the financial and political life of that period.
Outside the fortress, stone slabs coated with alabaster mixture, complete bathing facilities, and bathing bowls were found, offering a broader understanding of the lifestyle and culture of the fortress garrison. Archaeological research is currently being carried out in collaboration with the Academies of Sciences of Uzbekistan and Russia.
A project for the restoration of the archaeological monument has been developed at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. As part of the project, the reconstruction of Uzundara Fortress is planned, with the aim of transforming it into a tourist destination.
