The Russian Museum of Ethnography collection houses varied types of decorative items designed to go on top of the head, on the neck, chest, to be used in braids, etc.
They arrived at the museum both as separate items and in sets; however, they make it possible to see the particularities of the sets of decorative items, which used to be made for weddings and were a mandatory part of the bridal costume. She would wear it until the birth of her child, and in the future she would no longer wear some of them.
However, she would wear certain items until her death. In the set of decorative items special attention was given to head ornaments, which the Russian Museum of Ethnography presents in a variety of local variations. They would be attached to the headdress from various sides, turning it into a sort of helmet, as it used to be in the past.
