Did you know that the textiles of the Bukhara Emirate are kept in the collection of the Fitzwilliam Museum?!

There are several textile objects in the collection of the Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge. The most significant among them are the embroidered robe, interior embroideries and carpets, territorially associated with the Bukhara Emirate. The most interesting thing is that all embroideries belong to the suzani group. It should be noted that the relatively modest collection of textiles in the Fitzwilliam Museum not only gives an idea of   the applied art of Central Asia.
It possesses items of particular importance both for the analysis of the embroidery art in the Bukhara Emirate, and for the knowledge of how the valuable objects from the region ended up in foreign collections.
