THE WORLD SOCIETY'S NEW PUBLICATION DEDICATED TO THE COLLECTION OF THE KOKAND STATE MUSEUM-RESERVE PRESENTED AT THE BUYUK ALLOMALARI MUSEUM


The presentation of the book-album of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan called Collection of the Kokand State Museum-Reserve was held at the Buyuk Allomalari Museum in Kokand. 


The illustrated edition presents the best examples of art from one of the oldest cultural institutions in the Fergana Valley. The sections of the book-album tell about archaeological monuments, samples of numismatics, manuscript and documentary collection. The art of woodcarving and ganch, wood painting, chasing and jewelry, ceramics, artistic textiles are also represented in selected samples. A separate section is devoted to the collection of fine arts.
The head of the museum thanked the World Society for supporting the publication of books about the museum collection. “We have been looking for an opportunity to publish a book dedicated to the Kokand State Museum-Reserve for a long time, and, thanks to the support of the World Society, a volume about the unique cultural heritage of the museum has been published in the series Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections. Today we are proud to present the result of our work and it is very inspiring,” said Manzura Mansurova.


The book-album was presented by the scientific coordinator of the project Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections Dr. Elmira Gyul and the curator of the album Collection of the Kokand State Museum-Reserve Shahlo Abdullayeva. An exhibition of 50 book-albums of the series Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections was also organized for the guests as part of the event.
